Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

This diploma course will help to get you where you want to go.

With a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, you will be eligible to work as an authorised supervisor, centre manager, children’s services coordinator, director (children’s services), group/team coordinator/leader, or program leader.

*Classroom mode is dependent upon participant numbers and location

Course requirements

To complete the Diploma you will study a total of 28 units, consisting of 23 core units and 5 elective units. As part of the course assessment, you'll need to undertake supervised work placement as a paid employee in the child care industry or a voluntary placement for up to 240 hours. This placement will need to be pre-approved by Kath Dickson Institute. 

You will also be required to hold a positive notice blue card to work or volunteer in Queensland’s child care industry.

Fees and payment

We offer a 'pay as you study' system that allows payment of course fees over the duration of study. Various Queensland Government subsidies and incentives are available for this course, including Higher Level Skills and User Choice
